Hikers evacuated by helicopter following flooding at Mount Robson
PRINCE GEORGE – Several hikers were evacuated over the weekend from Mount Robson Provincial Park.
Witnesses say as many as 40 people had to taken out by a helicopter due to flooding, Lisa Keim and her friend were part of those evacuated.
“We couldn’t believe it, we thought we were pretty experienced in the backcountry and that was nothing that we’ve ever experienced before,” says Keim. “It was honestly pretty scary.”
BC Parks Rangers posted this notice on their tent this past weekend informing hikers to pack up their things and head back to be evacuated.
