PRINCE GEORGE – Cariboo Hockey hosted their first major ID Camp in over a year, July long weekend, with help from some of their former players.

The program has been bringing back alumni to assist with their hockey camps for several years now. This past camp they brought back some of their most recent graduates, which gave the Alumni the opportunity to be in a much different position than they’re used to.

“It’s a great experience for these guys going through this program,” says Brophy Dunne, Cariboo Alumni. “I was here a couple years back and I think most of my development came with this organization. Everyone knows what they’re doing here when they come. We got great leadership with everything here.”

“Yeah it’s super cool,” says Aiden Reeves, another Cariboo Alumni and current member of the Prince George Cougars. “I remember doing these tryouts myself and seeing older guys here, looking up to them and just wanting to be like them, so it’s cool to be in this position and be here with a couple of buddies.”

Reeves also mentioned how great it was to see that even when you leave the program or your season is over, there’s still opportunities to come back..

“Yeah it’s awesome, it’s just a cool experience. Cariboo does a good job of bringing back their alumni’s, lots of guys that have moved on through the program, so it’s cool to see everybody come back after their seasons.”
