FireSmart Property Reviews

PRINCE GEORGE – The City of Prince George and the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George have teamed up to reduce the risk from wildfire in our region.

Working with the FireSmart BC, our goal is to educate homeowners and raise awareness of wildfire risks and share critical information about wildfire prevention and mitigation.

“When it comes to being FireSmart, education is everything. From yard maintenance and landscaping best practices to fire-resilient building materials, learning what you can do today to protect yourself from wildfires can save your home and lives tomorrow,” says Anita de Dreu, Emergency Services Coordinator with the Regional District.

This year, the Regional District is offering complimentary FireSmart property reviews to homeowners in the Pidherny, Malaspina, and Broddy Road neighborhoods to help prioritize and identify opportunities to FireSmart their homes.

These neighborhoods were identified in the 2018 Community Wildfire Protection Plan as having the highest wildfire risk.
