Spruce Kings in need of billet families for upcoming season

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings are looking for billet families for the 2021-22 season.

The Prince George Spruce Kings have always been very fortunate with how generous the community of Prince George has been to them. This is most evidently seen through their billet family program.

“In our community, we’ve been really lucky to have some great billets in recent years. It’s a very important part of our operation and we’re still looking to get a couple more,” said Cole Waldie, Director of Communications for the Prince George Spruce Kings. “This is a great opportunity to create a long-lasting bond between the player and the families.”

Each year, many families are kind enough to give their players an opportunity for appropriate rest and eating a nice home-cooked meal, which allows them to work towards the dream of becoming an NCAA Division 1/National Hockey League player.

The Spruce Kings have had several players go on to play NCAA Division 1 Hockey, get drafted, and go on to play in the professional ranks.

It is important for Junior Hockey Clubs to have local families open their hearts and homes for a few months. Through this experience, many of these players create lasting memories and keep in touch with their host family beyond their time in Prince George.

The Spruce Kings are always looking for new families within our community. If you are interested in becoming a host family, please contact the Spruce Kings office at 250-564-1747 or email info@sprucekings.bc.ca.
