150 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., including 3 up north

VICTORIA — The daily COVID-19 case count continues to go up in B.C.

The Province announced 150 new cases today, including three in the Northern Health region.

There are 783 active cases of the virus provincially with 44 people in hospital, 22 of whom are in intensive care.

Here’s the regional breakdown:

The new/active cases include:

* 32 new cases in Fraser Health
* Total active cases: 196

* 17 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
* Total active cases: 122

* 95 new cases in Interior Health
* Total active cases: 412

* three new cases in Northern Health
* Total active cases: 14

* three new cases in Island Health
* Total active cases: 35

* no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada
* Total active cases: four

No new COVID-19 related deaths today with the provincial death toll remaining at 1,768.

As for vaccination rates, 80.7 per cent of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 62.3 per cent have received their second dose.
