PG Track and Field Club member ranks first in BC

“I was pretty fast in other sports like soccer and basketball and I just saw the opportunity to do track, so I just took it. It’s gone pretty well.”

But this is only the beginning as Adam is moving into grade 10 this coming year.

“Next year I want to be first in the high school season,” says Sieben.

And his dreams don’t stop at just the high school level.

“I want to run D-I when I’m older.”

To get there he knows he has a lot of work to do and as far as how far he’s gotten already, he attributes a lot of that towards his coaches.

“We got really good coaches, they really push me and they give me great advice,” says Sieben.

And his coaches know how good he is, but also know how far he still has to go if he is going to achieve his dreams.

“He wants to be D-I and it’s going to take a lot of work,” says Cathy Johnson, Head Sprinting Coach at the PG Track and Field Club.

And apparently, those goals were quite big from the very beginning.

“He set out a goal really early, he said he wanted to be Usain Bolt, is what he told me.”

But Johnson knows that eventually, he will outgrow the club and that someday his summers will look a whole lot different.

“Our goal is that we want him on a National Team in the summer,” says Johnson.

But ultimately, considering how far he has come already, is nothing to be ashamed about.

“I’m really really impressed with him.”
