250 wildfires continue to burn in B.C.

PRINCE GEORGE — The BC Wildfire has provided its latest update.

In releasing these numbers, they note that “the wildfire situation is continually evolving, and the information below is current as of 7 p.m. (Pacific time) on Monday, Aug. 2, 2021.”

* Since April 1, 2021:
* 1,308 wildfires

* 555,904 hectares of area burned

* Active fires by fire centre:
* Cariboo: 43

* Coastal: 15

* Kamloops: 75

* Northwest: 6

* Prince George: 51

* Southeast: 60

* Firefighters and other personnel fighting the fires: 3,245

* Out-of-province firefighters: 301

* Helicopters and planes supporting ground crews: 212

Evacuations:
