Two-vehicle collision closes Highway 97 north of Quesnel for hours Friday evening, no one transported to hospital

UPDATE: A death transpired due to the vehicle collision north of Quesnel.
B.C. Coroners Service said as it’s early in the investigation process, further details cannot be provided publicly.
EARLIER: B.C. Emergency Health Services confirmed to CKPG Today that a two-vehicle collision transpired at 9:50 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 6) north of Quesnel.
Highway 97 was closed in both directions for 0.2 kilometres between Comeau Road and Dick Road – four kilometres north of Quesnel – after a car and a semi trailer crashed. Drive B.C. said the road was cleared shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday.
