Coroners Inquest underway
PRINCE GEORGE – A Coroners Inquest is underway in the city and is scheduled to run for the week.
The Prince George Law Courts are hosting the Inquest into the death of Alexander Charles Joseph, 36. Joseph’s death was reported to the BC Coroners Services on October 4th, 2018. Joseph died while being transported from Prince George to Maple Ridge.
The jury heard that a group of inmates was being transported in a Corrections BC vehicle and was placed in a “cell” with another inmate. The jury was also told in opening remarks that the other inmate in Joseph’s cell says he put something into his mouth, become drowsy, and moved to lie on the floor. T
The jury will hear from 22 witnesses over the course of four days before the jury will deliberate. A Coroners Inquest is not a fault-finding body but can make recommendations.
