Cougars’ Ethan Samson named to Philadelphia Flyers Training Camp Roster

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Cougars will be without their top defenceman for a bit longer as Ethan Samson has been named to the Philadelphia Flyers Training Camp Roster.

The Flyers will open their training camp for the 2021-22 season when players begin on-ice workouts on Thursday, Sept. 23 at the team’s training facility in New Jersey.

A total of 57 players are currently scheduled to attend training camp – 32 forwards, 20 defensemen and 5 goaltenders.

Samson was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the sixth round, 174th overall, in the 2021 NHL Draft Saturday.

The blueliner amassed 12 points (1 goal, 11 assists) in 22 games during the 2020-2021 BC Division Hub season. The Delta, BC product was the Cougars’ top-scoring defenceman this past season and he led the team in assists (11), shots on goal (64), and was second in plus/minus (+3).
