PRINCE GEORGE — A 35-year-old Chetwynd resident has pleased guilty to three separate charges stemming from a three vehicle collision that occurred on October 28, 2020 on Highway 97, just north of the Simon Fraser Bridge in Prince George.

Jocelyn Wood has received a two- year conditional sentence and a two-year driving prohibition after pleading guilty to dangerous operation causing bodily harm, possession of property obtained by crime over 5,000 and failure to comply with demand after accident resulting in bodily harm.

The BC Prosecution Service dropped the charges against two of Wood’s co-accused. An ambulance transporting two patients was one of the vehicles involved. Several people were injured in the crash, which closed Highway 97 for several hours.

Initial investigation led officers to believe that a stolen pickup truck was driven through a ditch onto Highway 97, striking the median barricade and then colliding with a southbound ambulance, which then collided with another truck towing a trailer. Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
