Access restrictions for Lheidli T’enneh
LHEIDLI TERRITORY — Lheidli T’enneh First Nation announced Sunday (Oct. 3) that a restricted access order has been issued for its Northside and Southside Subdivisions.
Chief and Council determined the measure is required to help keep residents safe by limiting the amount of traffic in and out of the neighbourhoods. Council felt with confirmed COVID-19 cases in the community, the high number of COVID-19 cases in Prince George, and with the overload situation at the University Hospital of Northern BC, that access to each subdivision should be limited to residents, essential staff, and approved contractors.
“We know this comes just ahead of the Thanksgiving weekend when families and friends enjoy gathering to celebrate the season,” LTFN Chief Dolleen Logan states.
“We feel it is the community’s responsibility to help keep everyone safe and we owe it to each other to continue to practice COVID-19 safety protocols.”
