70 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A resident of 70 Mile House host an unwanted house guest last Thursday (Sept. 30) — a runaway truck tire.

In a news release, Acting Cpl. Marika Masters of Clinton RCMP says at about 11:49 a.m. Thursday, a tire came careening off Highway 97, smashing through a home’s window and coming to rest inside.

Masters says the tire was still hot when it stopped moving.

RCMP hope the public can help them solve the case, including those who might have dashcam footage from the highway during that time.

“At this time, it is believed the tire came loose from the vehicle that proceeded to travel northbound on the highway,” said Masters. “Someone somewhere returned home without that tire. If it was you or you know who it was, please do the right thing and contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information on the rogue tire is asked to contact Clinton RCMP at (250) 459-2221.
