New contract ratified for Village of McBride employees

MCBRIDE — Village of McBride employees have ratified a new contract.

The 12 employees ratified it unanimously after negotiations first began in February 2020.

Service, Health, Manufacturing, and Allied Workers Union, CLAC Local 501 says negotiations were delayed by several challenges, primarily lockdown measures and a turnover of management staff bargaining on behalf of the employer.

“The new agreement is for a two-year term and includes annual wage increases of two percent, as well as several other monetary and nonmonetary gains,” says the union.
