A local home builder takes the lead in introducing solar energy

PRINCE GEORGE – Integrating solar panels into newly built homes is a relatively new concept for many builders, and Fortwood Homes and Sons has taken the lead in introducing the new but largely unfamiliar technology.

Fortwood introduced solar panels to three newly built homes located at Creekside Properties. It comes as the provincial building code has changed to make homes more energy-efficient.

Each of the new homes built by Fortwood allows the new homeowners’ room to adopt energy efficiency methods.

There has been a reduction in the cost of solar panels, making it one of the better choices for saving money.
