Avalanche forecast rating at High for the North Rockies

PRINCE GEORGE – The province experienced its first avalanche fatality last weekend.
When a group of snowmobilers were riding east of Mackenzie in the Sunshine Bowl in the Hasler area.
On Tuesday Avalanche Canada raised the avalanche danger rating to high. From below treeline to the alpine the North Rockies region, Avalanche Canada forecasts Storm slabs will remain reactive until Wednesday. And avoid avalanche terrain while the snowpack adjusts to the new snow load.
Its expected avalanche conditions will fluctuate as parts of the province experience unseasonal weather patterns.
