PRINCE GEORGE- The Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a break-and-enter at a business on the 1600 block of Victoria Street on Sunday afternoon.

Surveillance footage showed the man leaving building with merchandise after entering the business through an insecure door. Officers patrolled the area and located the suspect just two blocks away from the scene of the crime.

RCMP recognized the man from previous interactions and identified him as 27-year-old, Prince George resident Michael Felix, a well-known property offender. Investigators arrested Felix for breaking and entering and kept him in custody until he could appear in court.

Felix has since been charged with break-and-enter and theft, and will remain in the community on a release order until his next court appearance.

“Decisive action from Frontline police, along with the public’s assistance, lead to a quick arrest in this matter. This is another great example of the community and RCMP working together, and we encourage community members to continue to report suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods and workplaces so we can effectively address criminal behaviour when it is happening,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
