33% of Northern BC residents say healthy food is not affordable
PRINCE GEORGE—The pandemic highlighted many issues in our every day lives, but one area in particular is access to healthier foods. A new study by the BC Alliance for Healthy Living found that 1/3 of British Columbians say healthy food, just isn’t affordable.
“Healthy eating is one of main pillars of health and well-being.” said Rita Koutsodimos, Executive Director, BC Alliance for Healthy Living.
In the early days of the pandemic, healthy eating and living was brought into the spotlight. But even though many were crafting their baking skills and growing food, the study found it was more smoke and mirrors.
