Snow Clearing

Windrow woes

PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George’s snow clearing operations maintain roads and sidewalks throughout winter. And as we found out, not all areas get the same level of road clearing services.

Three years ago, Gerry Dombroski moved to the north Nechako neighbourhood from the Millar addition. Over the last three winters, he’s noticed that snow clearing crews do not clear the windrow left in front of his driveway as they did at his previous home.

According to City Councillor Terri McConnachie, several city areas don’t get the same service as those neighbourhoods with a curb and gutter.

Neighbourhoods with no curb and gutters are sometimes are cleared with s a truck plow, which cannot clear driveway entrances.

Dombroski would like to have the same level of service as those in other parts of the city.

McConnachie suggests if you want to change the level of snow clearing service in your area, it is best to email the city with your request.
