PRINCE GEORGE – Some animals are left at a shelter during the festive season. To address that situation, the Prince George Humane Society has hosted a Home for the Holidays program where animals are temporarily placed in a foster home, making for a positive experience for foster animals and those who foster them.

As the holiday season approaches, each animal at the Prince George Humane Society is getting ready to be moved to a new foster home.

Home for the holidays allows people to experience pet ownership and how animals fit into their lifestyle.

The Humane Society would like those in the home to keep safety in mind during the holiday season.

Kelsey McNeil, an Animal Behaviour Coordinator with the Prince George Humane Society, says the holidays can be stressful for animals as it introduces them to visitors to their family home.

More resources about animal behaviour and the Home for the Holidays can be found on the Prince George Humane Society web page.
