PRINCE GEORGE – It is already the standard everywhere you go. the provincial vaccine passport is required everywhere you go, from restaurants to movies. and its almost inevitable that they will be required even in retail shops. And if you want to travel at some time, you’re going to need the federal vaccine passport.

The passports are easy to load up online. And that’s where the Prince George Public Library is stepping up to the plate.

“Yeah as soon as we received word that this was going to be an expectation, we realized very quickly that there are a lot of people who don’t have internet access, who don’t have computers, who don’t have printers,” explained Ignacio Albarracin, Manager of Collections & Technology. “And while we’ve always had public computers, we thought it would be important to have a dedicated station.”

And at a stone’s throw from the computers is a group of staff people who will lend a hand. And while the library touts this as efforts to help the community, that’s what they do, it’s also about getting people through the doors at the library to see what wealth of services they offer there.

“It’s about helping the community, right? Even to access some of our programs now, because of the provincial rules, you need to provide some of these vaccine passports.”

He says it opens the doors for social activities. So if you’re still on the fence about getting that passport or aren’t sure how a quick trip downtown and an even quicker visit to the library will set you on the passport path.
