Protect your home during extremely cold weather

PRINCE GEORGE – Over the next few days, the temperatures are expected to plunge into the minus twenties during the day and into the minus thirties at night. This extremely cold weather can be brutal on both you and your home. There are ways to protect your house when the biting cold arrives.

The extreme cold weather is only a few days away, and as it gets colder, heating appliances like furnaces continue to work harder to heat your home.

Fraser Plumbing and Heating Erik Madsen says let a tap trickle to avoid freezing; however, if you find your pipes frozen, use electric heat tape or a portable space heater to thaw frozen pipes that have not burst.

A consistent cold air mass has been sitting over our region for the past few days, and it’s forecast to get even colder.
