Voting process for SD57 trustees now underway
PRINCE GEORGE- Advanced polling in the School District 57 byelection is open. Eligible voters can cast their ballot at the School District 57 office on the corner of Ferry Ave and Highway 16. Voters will be voting for one of the five candidates running for Prince George. Advanced voting is available on January 5 and 11. In Mackenzie, advanced voting is available at the District of Mackenzie office.
The five candidates running for Prince George trustee are Andrew Burton, Shannon Freeman, Milton Mahoney, Audrey Mckinnon, Brian Trotter. Meanwhile, David Szucsko and Rachael Weber are running for Mackenzie.
On election day, Prince George voters can cast their ballow at either Glenview Elementary School, Heritage Elementary, Malaspina Elementary, Pineview Elementary or the Van Bien Training Centre in between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. Mackenzie voters will be able to cast their ballot on January 15 at the District of Mackenzie office.
Voters must be at least 18 with two pieces of ID on them. They must be a Canadian citizen, be a resident of BC for at least 6 months, and be a resident within the voting district for at least 30 days. Those looking to cast their ballot must not be disqualified by the School Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law.
