‘It is a concern for us’: SD57 planning for potential functional closures
PRINCE GEORGE – With the rapid spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, School District 57 is working on contingency plans for possible functional closures when students return.
A functional closure is only necessary when there is not enough staff to replace those ill and not able to come to work.
“It is a concern for us,” said Acting Superintendent of SD57, Cindy Heitman. “That’s work that we are doing this week, putting in contingency plans should we have a situation where we have so many staff away.”
