BC’s active COVID-19 case count jumps significantly

NORTHERN BC- Provincial COVID-19 case counts continue to skyrocket. BC reported 3,144 new cases, 244 of which were in the north as the region’s active case count is now 935.

Meanwhile, BC’s active case count jumped by about 1,300, breaking a new record for the second day in a row. It now stands at 33,184. Of the active cases, 349 individuals are in hospital and 93 are in intensive care.

Nine new deaths have been reported in BC, five of which were identified in Fraser Health. The provincial death toll has reached 2,439. 240,198 people who tested positive have recovered.
