Snowfall warning issued for Mackenzie and Pine Pass

NORTHERN BC- Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Williston region including Mackenzie, and Pine Pass highway. This comes as 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected.

The warning is expected to last from late Wednesday until mid Thursday. According to the weather service, a frontal system approaching from the west will bring heavy snow. Intensity will decrease Thursday morning but persist until late in the day.

The snow could make travel more difficult in the area, and residents are encouraged to prepare for road conditions if travel is necessary. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
