EOC set to open

New Emergency Operations Centre is set to be ready this year.

PRINCE GEORGE – The Regional District of Fraser Fort George is a few months away from opening its new Emergency Operations Centre.

Once completed, the district staff will use the build to manage emergency events with the regional district.

The new high-tech Public Safety Operations building is designed to evolve with the ever-changing emergency management technologies.

The construction began in early 2021, with a completion date scheduled for this spring.

The 5000 square foot building also can be used to house a backup regional fire dispatch centre.

In addition, to supplying extra capacity for an emergency. The new 3.4 million dollar building near Ospika boulevard will be a training centre for emergency response for the regional district.
