PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars’ four-game win streak came to an end Friday (Jan. 21) at CN Centre.

The Cougars were peppered with 53 shots by the Kamloops Blazers throughout the game and trailed 2-0 after the first period. They were shorthanded as they could only dress 14 skaters due to injuries and COVID-19 protocols.

Caden Brown put home the rebound off a Keaton Dowhaniuk sharp angle shot to cut the deficit to 2-1, but that’s as close as the Cougars got. The Blazers scored three unanswered en route to a 5-1 win.

The Cougars are 17-18-1-1 in the 2021-22 Western Hockey League (WHL) season, good for 36 points in 37 games, third in the B.C. Division, and sixth in the WHL Western Conference. Prince George will play the Blazers in a rematch in Kamloops Saturday (Jan. 22) night.
