UNBC student club holds annual fishing derby to help support charity

PRINCE GEORGE– The UNBC TWS Fish and Wildlife Student Chapter hosted their annual Fishing Derby today however this one was a little more special than past years.

The group provides opportunities for members to gain field experience in areas of fish and wildlife research and management. This year they hosted the derby in honor of Dan Larson. A graduated student who tragically passed away in a car accident in the fall of 2020.

In his honor, all money raised from the event will be donated to Ducks Unlimted, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of wetlands. Larson was very passionate about fishing and was dearly remembered by his peers.
