Cougars drop first of two home games against Giants 4-1
PRINCE GEORGE — Carter MacAdams ended the Vancouver Giants’ shutout bid with a move to backhand with 48 seconds remaining on Friday (Feb. 11), but the Prince George Cougars fell 4-1.
The Giants’ Ty Thorpe rifled the puck top shelf on the power play near the end of the first period and the Cougars played catch up from there. After a scoreless second period, the Giants added three more goals. The Cougars outshot the Giants 35-30.
Prince George has now gone winless in four straight games, falling to 18-24-2-1 on the 2021-22 Western Hockey League season, good for 39 points in 45 games. They remain sixth in the Western Conference and third in the B.C. Division.
The Cougars host the Giants again Saturday (Feb. 12) at CN Centre. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
