Hundreds of people show support at rally held for country of Ukraine
PRINCE GEORGE– Residents of Prince George came together and showed support for the country of Ukraine after a rally was hosted Sunday afternoon at City Hall.
Many people singing and chanting “Peace to Ukraine” and “Stop Putin” to offer support and love to those in the country that is currently protecting itself from Russia.
Andrii Chornenkyi is the priest at Saint George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. He helped organize the rally which saw many Ukrainian and non-Ukraine citizens come out with signs and flags. Indigenous drumming took place and Mayor Lyn Hall was also a part of the ceremony making a speech and then receiving a Ukrainian Flag to be raised at City Hall Tuesday morning.
