56-year-old man charged for possession of fentanyl

SMITHERS — A 56-year-old man has been charged after he was caught with suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia in Smithers.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says Bradley Theodor Layton has been charged with possession of fentanyl.

Layton was arrested on April 18, 2021 when officers conducted a traffic stop on Queen Street near 1st Avenue in Smithers. The BC Prosecution Service approved the charge against him on February 22, 2022.

Police say Layton is scheduled to appear in court on March 15, 2022.
