PRINCE GEORGE – Council was painted a shocking picture of housing supply in the community.

According to a report by Urban Matters, this community will need more than ten thousand rental units alone, and the need is particularly acute in affordable rental units and housing for seniors.

According to the report, 77% of housing units in Prince George are single family dwellings while 41% of residents live in apartments.

It also showed a vacancy rate of three percent in Prince George, which is low.
