Cougars lose weekend games to Royals

The Prince George Cougars were shut out by the Victoria Royals on the road Saturday (March 19). The Royals swept the weekend, games three and four of six head to head battles.

Victoria’s Bailey Peach opened the scoring at 15 minutes into the first period.

The second period was quiet until just about a minute left, Peach scoring a second, assisted by Tarun Fizer and Kalem Parker.

The Cougars pulled their goalie with just under three minutes left in the third, but Peach made it a hat trick a minute later on the empty net.

The Cougars sit at 20-34-2-1 on the 2021-22 Western Hockey League season and are good for 43 points in 57 games. Their next game is two more road games in Victoria to round out the series next Friday and Saturday (March 25 and 26).
