Coldsnap returns this weekend
PRINCE GEORGE — Coldsnap 2022 starts Friday, and The Prince George Folkfest Society is thrilled.
After a brief hiatus, the week-long winter music festival is making its return. After line up and venue rescheduling Coldsnap will call The House of Ancestors home for its first weekend. Starting March 30, the Knox Performance Venue will play host to the remainder of the festival.
Coldsnap is happy to welcome a diverse lineup of musicians including Murray Porter, Maria Dunn, Linda McRae and several others. The festival will also see the return of its famous Coldsnap for Kids concert on Sunday, March 27.
The festival will also be hosting workshops all week at the Omieca Arts Centre. Workshops will include sessions like The Joy of Jigging, an exploration of the Métis dance and its relationship with fiddle music and How to use Music as Medicine a look into using music as a means of therapy and self-realization.
