PRINCE GEORGE– March 2020. That’s the last time Exploration Place was open and thriving before the COVID-19 pandemic halted things to a close. However, as renovations continue the excitement grows for the beloved museum to open again.

With new exhibits and galleries coming in, bigger spaces for the animals, old exhibits improving, and new interactive Displays, CEO Tracy Calogheros is excited to bring all these new aspects when they re-open. Something completely new being installed is a kitchen, where cooking classes are planned to take place as well as serving food to guests. A first not only in the museum but in Lheidli T’enneh park.

And while many miss Exploration Place, many don’t know that the museum feels the same way about being such a big part of the city.

This community has embraced this facility as we’ve all grown up together. To hear that the public misses us just means so much. So we’re really excited to get everybody back into this building and there are some really cool things coming. -CEO Tracy Calogheros

So the question is when is opening day? The answer is June 18th! The whole building might not be open because of the shipping delays that have affected many businesses during the pandemic however according to Calagharos some portion of the Exploration place will be open on June 18th 2022
