Crews respond to suspicious fire on Pine Street
PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue is calling a fire today that broke out at approximately 4 :10 p.m. suspicious.
Assistant Fire Chief Dan Pears says crews initially responded to a grass fire on the 2300 block of Pine Street.
“On arrival, the first in engine crew found multiple grass fires, one of which had spread to a fence line and a shop at the rear of a property,” he says. “The engine crew immediately upgraded the fire to a structure fire and called for additional trucks.”
He says firefighters quickly contained the fire to the fence line and shop, preventing its spread to a nearby house.
