CKPG nominated for prestigious RTDNA award for story on Residential School survivor

PRINCE GEORGE — CKPG News has been nominated for a radio television digital news association award (RTDNA).

It’s for Randi-Marie Adams feature news story, “Residential School Survivor,” which shared the story of elder Clifford Quaw, a survivor of the Lejac residential school in Fraser Lake.

Clifford was forced to attend the school from the age of five for ten years, ending in 1963.

Clifford later went back to school and graduated in 2008 from the provincial instructors diploma program.

He now travels around and teaches people about his time and experiences in residential schools.
