PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Council of Seniors board recently hired a new Executive Director, Michelle McGregor, who replaces longtime outgoing executive director Lola-Dawn Fennel.

McGregor comes to the organization with experience as a Housing Manager, Social Justice Coordinator, and Poverty Law Advocate. Her goal is to work on getting more affordable housing options for seniors and build on exciting programs.

Terry Runions also joined the staff as Coordinator for the Better at Home program. Prince George will benefit from Terry’s previous experience running this program in Kitimat.

Better at Home helps seniors to continue living independently in their homes by providing simple, non-medical home support services.

Lorraine MacArthur has recently filled the prevalent Housing and Community Navigator position, whose experience as a social worker will be a valuable resource for this work.

MacArthur is available to meet one-on-one with seniors to assist them with housing information, referrals, applications, and connections to community services. She also coordinates the Social Line and Friendly Phone Calls program.
