Restaurants dealing with Inflation with prices high as ever

PRINCE GEORGE– It seems the prices of everything from gas to food continue to go up with no end in sight. As a result, it forces businesses like restaurants to raise prices to make ends meet.

The White Goose Bistro is one of the many restaurants in the community that is feeling the effects of inflation with prices of ingredients getting more expensive. Chicken, Bacon. Beef, Produce, and Oil is some of the items the Bistro has seen have a $10 increase when buying.

And they’re not the only ones who have seen the cost of items go up in the restaurant industry. Another restaurant told CKPG it’s the worst they’ve ever seen. Because of this, people may start to be looking at saving their money with inflation playing a big part.

Charles Scott a professor at UNBC believes this problem all started when the COVID-19 pandemic first began and the situation has been getting worse ever since.

As for the White Goose Bistro, they are eating the costs all while trying to manage prices on their menu. However, despite the raised prices on their menu, the Bistro says most customers are understanding of the situation and are hopeful prices will lower soon.
