PRINCE GEORGE – B-C’s police watchdog has been called to investigate an incident involving a Prince George R-C-M-P officer where a woman was injured last summer.
The Independent Investigations Office says it was not notified in August 2021 because the woman’s injuries were not initially believed to be serious. It says her injuries were later found to meet the threshold for serious harm as defined by B-C’s Police Act and the office was notified at the end of April.
The I-I-O says it is now investigating a collision involving the woman’s car and an R-C-M-P officer’s S-U-V on Highway 97 in the Bear Lake area, north of Prince George, which sent the woman to hospital.
