Handgun sales on the rise across the country

PRINCE GEORGE- The Sales of handguns have been at an all-time high since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau proposed to crack down on selling and owning guns. Gun Stores across the country and recording booms in business and are even having trouble keeping up.

With so many things still up in the air about new rules or for owning and selling handguns, the bill proposition has motivated people to decide on owning a weapon.

“We saw a huge increase in handgun sales. We normally carry a decent inventory, and I’m down to two items at the moment. I can’t get more stock. There is no stock,” Says the owner of K.K.S Tactical Supplies, Cassandra Premack. “I have to say that Trudeau is probably my best salesperson. Any time he talks about gun regulations, people typically go out and buy more.”

Many small business owners are concerned about the revenue loss that will come with the new bill, and while this boom in business is excellent, Cassandra is aware this is not a permanent solution.

“It’s the lasting impact. So this is just a short-term spurt. I can’t get more inventory. So this is what I would have sold over a year. And yeah, it’s wonderful, and I appreciate it. And there are benefits, obviously, to having that burst of income coming into the business,” says Premack. “But that’s not sustainable. And for us, typically that’s anywhere from 15 to 20% of my income comes from my restricted or my firearm sales.”

Reactions to this bill have been mixed in the nation’s capital. If this bill does pass, the regulations are expected to come into force in the fall.
