Market coupons bigger and better
PRINCE GEORGE – “It’s wonderful for our vendors. It helps our meat vendors as well as our vegetable vendors.”
That’s Martin Krell, President of the Prince George Farmers’ Market about a coupon program to give access to fresh food that many in the community maybe wouldn’t be able to afford under any other circumstances. Baby’s New Beginnings is one of the programs.
“So they receive a variety of coupons for different things. For fruits and vegetables, as well as meat products. Also, this year, they’re receiving a coupon for honey,” explains Katrina McGraw, Family Programs Manager at the Elizabeth Fry Society. “It has increased. It was $21 dollars and has now increased to $27 a week, which is great.”
