PRINCE GEORGE– Philip Myatovic is the owner of Cariboo Growers. A farm in Prince George that provides locally grown produce. However, due to the cold and wet weather, Northern BC has been experiencing, it’s been a lot harder for him to plant and grow his crops as they are 3 months behind the season.

However, Myatovic might not be the only one as a UNBC professor believes, that colder and wetter temperatures in May have had an effect on planting crops. Whether that’s affecting the soil, seeds, or even farming equipment.

Controlling the weather seems virtually impossible but there is a way to make the best out of the situation, Hope Organics, another farm in Northern BC is using greenhouses and has seen an uptick in production while using fewer resources.
