PRINCE GEORGE- The Prince George Pride Society is hosting its 25th annual Pride Festival this July, and just like in 2021, the Pride Cruise is the main event this summer.

“Next weekend, July 9, we have quite a few things going on. So during the day, from 11 to two, we are doing our Pride Cruise,” said Josie Wendling, the interim secretary of the Prince George Pride Society. “We are contacting local businesses and other local associations. We’re going to have them set up outside their storefronts or their buildings, and we’re going to have them wave.

The Pride Society recommends a small table outside your business with someone to hand out stickers, candies, or other small goodies with your business cards for companies who would like to participate in the Cruise.

If you are interested in signing your business up, you can email the Prince George Pride Society at PGpridenow@gmail.com.

Both Josie and William are two of the many new members of the Pride Society and want to make a lasting impact on the Prince George community all year round.

“Perhaps partner with some local organizations. We’ve got a few local organizations in particular that have LGBTQ youth programs, so really connecting and having them connect with us and having us connect with them,” said Interim Vice President of the Prince George Pride Society, Dr. William Gottschall.

The Prince George Pride Festival kicks off July 4 with the raising of the flag.
