PRINCE GEORGE — One person was recovered from the Fraser River in Prince George today.

Prince George Fire Rescue responded just before 10:30 a.m. at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park for a report of a person seen floating in the river.

“RCMP members were stationed at strategic locations on the river to visually locate the victim in the water,” says Assistant Chief Kevin Woodhouse. “A team of four water rescue firefighters were rapidly deployed at Wiens Road using both of the department’s rapid deployment crafts.”

The individual was then recovered from the river across from the Cowart Road pump station. The person’s name has not been released.
