PG Track and Field athletes finish successful weekend at provincial championships
SURREY — Three teenaged athletes are returning to Prince George following a successful weekend at the B.C. Junior Development Track & Field Championships in Surrey.
Sarah Aka, 13, Kasi Udumaga, 11, and Jin Cronje, 13, got many personal bests this weekend as they competed in different categories for medals with the Prince George Track and Field Club.
Udamaga stood out as a talented athlete with multiple gold medals. He got first in the 60, 100 and 200 meter runs — finishing the 200 meter in only 28.6 seconds.
Aka got podium a number of times, with a third place win in her age group’s 100 meter race. That was a close race, with the first and second place winners at 13.46 and 13.47 seconds respectively and Aka at 13.66. Aka’s time was a personal best.
