Update: RCMP locate missing man

PRINCE GEORGE –Update: The search for a missing Prince George man has ended successfully.

RCMP confirm they’ve found 67 year old Neil Sandberg and note that he is safe and sound.

Sandberg went missing over the weekend and was last seen at Cottonwood Island Park. Police are thanking local media for their assistance in helping find him.

Earlier: Prince George RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating 67-year-old Neil Sandberg. The family last spoke to Neil around 5:00 p.m. on July 16 and he has not been seen or heard from since. His family is very concerned for his well-being.

Neil Sandberg is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 180 cm (5’11)
  • 82 kg (181 lb)
  • Blue eyes
  • Grey hair
  • Last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans

Neil was last seen at Cottonwood Island Park around 8:00 p.m. Police officers and family made extensive patrols in the area but have not located Neil.

Investigators are very concerned for Neil’s safety and well-being. Neil does not have his cell phone on him. It is unknown where he may have been heading or if he remained in Prince George. Police are requesting help from the public in keeping an eye out for Neil and asking them call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 if anyone sees him, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.
