PRINCE GEORGE — One phase of public consultation around a proposed “mega park” in Prince George has concluded, and most residents are in favour of the park.

The results of the survey, which will be presented to Prince George city council Monday (July 25) showed that 78 per cent of respondents support the park being built on a city-owned six-acre site near Ospika Boulevard and 22 Avenue.

The six park features that are currently in the proposal are a pump track, a spray park, an accessible playground, a senior-friendly outdoor gym, and two “adventure parks” – one for children up to 5 years old and one for older kids.

Among the comments received in the survey was the sentiment that right now, there isn’t anything for kids or families to do in Prince George and that this mega park would encourage children to be active.
