BC Summer Games quiet for Prince George RCMP
PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George RCMP had a quiet weekend during the BC Summer Games.
“The athletes, spectators, coaches and staff who came to Prince George were a great example of teamwork and community. We had very few complaints to police about incidents at the venues and everything was resolved peacefully when we did attend. From a policing perspective, this was a highly successful event for Prince George,” states Superintendent Shaun Wright, Officer in Charge of the Prince George RCMP.
In total, police attended six files that were directly related to the B.C. Summer Games. Two were for transient persons camping in venue locations and not leaving when asked.
Twice police removed intoxicated persons from a venue when they would not leave on their own: one person left peaceably in a taxi and the other was arrested for being drunk in a public place.
